BMS College of Engineering (BMSCE full form), Bengaluru, is the first private engineering college established in India. The college came into existence after the vision of its founders, Sri. B. M. Sreenivasaiah and his son, Sri. B.S. Narayan. The mission of the college is to achieve excellence in technical education by providing education, research, and services.
Over the last 77 years, the college has produced numerous graduates who have contributed in the engineering field. BMSCE has been accredited by NAAC with an ‘A++ grade’, and most undergraduate and postgraduate programmes have NBA Tier 1 accreditation. BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore, has numerous collaborators in both industry and educational institutions. It is also the only college in the country that has partnered with the Melton Foundation, USA.

Melton Foundation, USA BMSCE is known for its vibrant student life, which includes extracurricular activities and fests. Numerous clubs and extracurricular activities operate within the campus, providing students with enough exposure to the world outside of academics. One of the biggest cultural fests in Bangalore, UTSAV, is hosted by BMSCE and attracts students from all over the country. BMSCE also places great importance on sports and physical fitness and has achieved numerous accolades in sports competitions. BMSCE encourages students to take part in sports and cultural competitions or tournaments. It is ranked at the top by VTU for sports and events. The Department of Physical Education and Sports Science provides the students, staff, faculty, and local community with sports, recreation, and leisure activities. The department provides scientific and technical training for teams and has organised various events like the South Zone Inter University Table Tennis Competition (Men and Women) in 2006, BMSCE Kreedotsav, and UTSAV. One of the most popular annual Techno-Cultural BMSCE Fest, named UTSAV, is hosted by BMSCE. It provides an opportunity for students to showcase their talents in areas such as music, dance, literature, theatre, and others. The theme for 2023 was "Regalia,” or royalty. The BMS College of Engineering fest has over 70 events in various disciplines and was a huge success with the help of 60+ sponsors. Green Fest, Whiplash (Concert), and DJ Night were all part of the events. Ethnic Day, flash mobs, and Thanksgiving Day took place as pre-Utsav events to prepare students for the huge day.
