MSRIT, Bangalore, encourages students to participate in various cultural activities such as music, theater, literary, visual arts and final arts, along with sports, NSS, and other similar activities. 

MSRIT Sports Activities:

At MSRIT, sports are an integral part of students' personality development. The college supports and brings the talents of youth; While providing them with the necessary infrastructure, equipment, coaching facilities and competitive exposure. 

Ramaiah Institute of Technology Cultural Activities:

1. Ice-Breaker-Cultural Orientation for Freshers: 

Ice-Breaker -Cultural Orientation is the first event conducted by RIT in every academic year for fresher students. During this session, all the freshers will be introduced to the senior students who oversee various activities.

2. Dr. M.S. Ramaiah Memorial Parliamentary Debate: 

Dr. M.S. Ramaiah Memorial Parliamentary debate, or the parliamentary debate tournament will be conducted by the Literary and Debating Society under the guidance of the Department of Extra-Curricular Activities. So far, there have been six editions of the tournament. The tournament has evolved into one of the largest debate events in India and seen the highest participation in any debate tournament in South India. Students from institutions like IIT Bombay, NITK Surathkal, RVCE, BMSCE, PESIT, NLS Law College, VIT- Vellor, etc., take part regularly in this prestigious tournament. 

3. Shoutout- The Intra-collegiate Theatre Fest: 

Shoutout is the annual intra-college theatre fest conducted by the Theatre Society exclusively for the students of MSRIT. The growing passion for theatre, acting, photography, play-writing, movie-making, editing, scoring background music, etc., are showcased during Shout Out. 

4. Kannada Rajyotsava: 

As the most anticipated event conducted in the month of November, Kannada Rajyotsava showcases the rich culture of the state in full fervour and colour. Distinguished litterateurs and well-known actors are invited to the campus for celebrations. 

5. UDBHAV - The Intercollegiate Cultural Extravaganza: 

Udbhav is the annual cultural extravaganza of MSRIT. According to the survey conducted by Deccan Herald, its size and magnitude have earned a spot among the ten best college fests in Karnataka. With a footfall of approximately 15,000 people and participants from over 35 colleges all over Karnataka, Udbhav is a melting pot of culture. To provide students the maximum exposure feasible, the events are divided into two categories known as intercollegiate and intra-college. Every year, the institution hosts 27 intra-colleges and 30 intercollegiate events, giving students a chance to showcase their talents in the area of art, music, literature, dance, theatre, and many others. 

6. VTU Annual Youth Festival: 

Every year, VTU organizes one of the most widely participated cultural spectacles in Karnataka at various locations depending on the college which takes up the responsibility. Among the 16 VTU Annual Youth Fests conducted so far, MSRIT has been crowned Overall Champions for 2 times and Runners-Up for a whopping 10 times. 

RIT was awarded as the Overall Champions of the state-level VTU Youth Festival 2024- BlissBeat, hosted by SJCIT, Chikkaballapur, from March 27th and 30th, 2024. From the past 23 years, the college has continually been in the top 2 podium positions at 25th VTU Youth Fest. 

7. Other Events on and off-Campus:

In addition to all the other events listed above, numerous other activities take place throughout the academic year known as Freshers’ Quiz, Fresher’s Western Acoustic, Nature Walks and Visits, Movie Screening, Photography Workshops & Photo Walks, etc. Apart from these, there are twenty-odd clubs in college that are free to take part in the fest of any other college throughout India in students' spare time.

1. Akshay BM - Entrepreneur & Musician (Batch 2014 – 2017):

Akshay BM studied Computer Science between 2014 and 2017. Today, he's not just an entrepreneur but also a passionate musician. He’s performed at over 500 shows around the world and runs a thriving business called Aalaap Factory in Rajajinagar, Bangalore, which includes an audio and video production house, a recording studio, and a jam room.

Akshay is part of over four bands and also collaborates with many other artists as a freelancer. He manages a few well-known playback singers and bands too. As a drummer, he’s played for several movies – One of the most well-known being KGF Chapter 1. He’s also performed live during IPL matches for Royal Challengers Bangalore and for Bengaluru FC (Bangalore Football Club). Over the years, he’s been involved in various TV shows and live events. Outside of music, Akshay supports his family business, which deals with photocopier sales and service, as well as a small-scale motor manufacturing unit.
