Currently, doctoral programs are available in the following two specialised areas: The admission process to secure a seat in Unani courses includes completion of Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as the mandatory subjects. A basic knowledge of Urdu is preferred but not mandatory during admission. However, if Urdu is not known, then they can enrol in bridge courses during their studies. Furthermore, they must appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG). After qualifying for the test, they can apply to colleges through the various counselling rounds. The students must complete BUMS, which is the foundational course in Unani medicine. It is similar in structure to MBBS, with the same duration of 5.5 years.
