The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) postponed the National Eligiblity-cum-Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2025 following the Supreme Court orders, mandating to hold the exam in a single shift. As per the new schedule, the exam will now be held on August 3, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The court also clarified that no further extensions will be granted.
Originally, NEET-PG 2025 was scheduled to be held in multiple shifts on June 15, 2025. However, the exam has been postponed as conducting it in a single shift requires more exam centres and infrastructure to accommodate all students.
Last year, due to the incidents and rumours regarding paper leaks, the board conducted the exam at reliable centres only. The exam was held in two shifts, as the number of examination centres was reduced to 416. A normalisation process was implemented to ensure the students’ ranks were not affected due to the varying difficulty level of the papers in both shifts. However, many aspirants felt the normalisation could still create unfairness and have significant effects on their ranks.
